There are SO many reasons to join a local playgroup. It can help you to meet new mama friends, help your kids stay active and socialised, and just give you a bit of a break from the endless task of keeping them entertained! I was wondering how to find the best local playgroup near me in and around Ipswich and Springfield. As a Family and Newborn photographer, I very frequently hear from my families (especially new mamas) that they don’t have enough social mama connections. This can often lead to feelings of isolation. So I thought I would take the hard work out of it and provide you with some options.

I need to preface this post by saying that all information was correct at the time of writing and will do my best to maintain it. However, please make sure you check out the links provided in each group before showing up to ensure it is still running at that date/time/location and there’s nothing additional you need to know before showing up. It could save some awkwardness!

It is also worth saying that sometimes it can take a few go’s to find a group which suits you. They are not a one-size-fits-all. It is worth giving it a go, even for a few weeks before deciding if it is for you. I have not personally attended all of these playgroups however they have been recommended by other mums in the community.

Fun tip – if you are nervous to attend a group by yourself it may be worth either phoning ahead to let them know you are attending for the first time, or bring a friend with you.

One of the first stops I recommend you checking out is Everyday Mums. It is a new take on Mother’s groups and a safe space for Mums in Ipswich to connect, build friendships, gain support and knowledge. There is a number of curated programs, casual sessions and workshops on offer. The Everyday Mums Hub is located in the centre of town and is available to hire for special events and courses. You can check them out HERE, see what they are currently offering.

I thought a good way to organise this would be by day of the week, so that you can find something that fits in well with your routine.
