Brisbane Newborn Photography Session

Here’s a look at Erika’s Newborn Photography Session in our Brookwater Newborn Studio Space.

Baby Cobie boasted the cutest smile, and the most adoring brother and sister.

At first, Erika wasn’t sure she wanted to be in any of the photos and was keen for it to just be the kiddos and bubba Cobie. I offer the chance to speak with each mama on the phone as they book their session, and encouraged her to make the most of the opportunity and jump in some of the photos. Because when you are creating your professional family portrait photography, it is beautiful to get to have something to pass down to your kids, and make sure YOU are also in the photos. So they can see what it was like to be held by you. Real talk though, sometimes the last thing you feel like after giving birth is getting dressed up, and sitting in front of a camera! That is why I have a number of dresses in my Curated Client Closet, perfect for post-partum mamas who probably don’t have the time or energy to run out and try on dresses! We get caught up so much in the day-to-day and babies are only little for such a short amount of time, so it is great to get in the photos with them. Of course, we still get PLENTY of photos with the kiddos and bub themselves also.

I always try my best to gently encourage mamas to jump in the photos. At the end of the day you get to choose the photos you wish to purchase, so if it turns out you don’t like any of the photos of yourself (it hasn’t happened yet!) you can just always choose the others. No harm, no foul.
